Gibraltar, British. Located in South of Spain

Solo Travel

Gibraltar is a very small British Town, Small in land space and small in population but very symbolic of the history of Spain and Britain.

Gibraltar is famous for “The Rock”. Standing the test of time on the bed of Mediterranean Sea in South of Spain, this majestic rock shimmers warmth just like its people.

This amazing Rock formation takes you back 200 million years. The locals tell me the top ridge of Gibraltar was once far below the sea and made of millions of compressed seashells from the inside out, which is why it is so solid. There is an expression, “Solid as the Rock of Gibraltar”.

The main language spoken here is English been British, the locals also speak Spanish. There is another interesting language spoken by locals –  a mixture of English and Spanish known as “Llanito”. The people of Gibraltar immigrated through history from different places and are made up of  Spanish, Genoese, Maltese, Moroccan, Jewish, Portuguese and British. An Amazing little town where all different nationalities and cultures come together in harmony and embrace their differences with respect.
