As soon as you hear Italy the first thing pops into peoples head is mouth-watering food and hot sexy men. I was prepared to keep an open mind on both counts haha … and I was very excited about experiencing the beautiful Venice/ Venezia my way…

Solo Travel

I arrived in Venice mid-afternoon, it was a warm day, Clear blue sky .. not too hot not to cold… just perfect. The taxi ride. I should say the water taxi ride getting into Venice was terrific; I have never experienced anything like it before. No roads and no cars, I can not imagine myself driving one of these boats to get around this floating island paradise. I have to admit without the road signs and road names I would be lost. It’s like a maze. I have to say patience and courtesy are two primary requirements if you want to drive yourself around these waterways, no one is in a mad rush here…..

Walking over the bridge in high heels or stilettos is exceptionally challenging. Comfortable shoes are highly recommended and so is paying someone to carry your suitcase to your hotel. Never the less it was the experience I would not change for anything. After changing into comfortable shoes, I had the pleasure of investigating this beautiful floating city ….. my biggest attraction to this City of water, City of Masks, City of Bridges and City of Canals … The Floating City is the mysterious personality. The more I see, the more I was drawn to it … I am attracted more and more to the unknown … to the mystery

Venice is a city located in northeastern Italy, in the marshy Venetian Lagoon and is made of 117 small islands which are separated by canals and joined by bridges; This city is listed as a World Heritage Site. Architecture and artworks together with the beautiful setting and Italian food attract tourist from all over the world all year around.

My personal opinion is that the beautiful people are what makes this place even better place to visit and more enjoyable. Everyone I met from the staff at the hotel to waiters at the restaurant to shop assistants where so helpful and polite, their English is not fluent, and in some cases, it’s bad but they all make a tremendous effort to help.

I adventured off to do a gondola tour with the musicians singing as we cruised through this mysterious floating paradise. Relaxing back with the soft music taking in the breathtaking views while this sexy hot Italian man maneuvers the gondola through the waterways making it look just effortless ….. but I am sure if I went to do that I would tip the gondola upside down in no time ..hahaha

I was despondent leaving this beautiful paradise, and I can not wait to visit again sometime very soon. If you are visiting Venice/ Venezia, I would highly recommend the gondola ride. It is a fantastic experience.
