Solo Travel

Pamplona, the city famous for the Running of the Bulls. Traditional festival of San Fermin (Las Fiestas de San Fermin). Every July people from all over the world come to be part of this festival. Some as just spectators and some actually take part in running with the bulls. This starts 8 am every morning for 7 days in a row. People get in the festive mood by dressing in white and red, music is placed in the city square and the party goes on for the whole seven days. Today most people taking part in this festival don’t even know or probably don’t even care what this festival is about.[/vc_column_text][us_single_image image=”4215″ align=”center”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row seperator_indeed_locker=”” lk_t=”ism_template_1″ lk_io=”default” lk_dm=”0″ lk_thm=”0″ lk_tuo=”0″ ru_on=”0″ uhc_on=”0″ ur_on=”0″ ref_on=”0″][vc_column][vc_column_text]SOLO Travel

The fiesta of San Fermin goes back to the Middle Ages, the celebration is for three reasons.
1. Religious ceremonies in honor of San Fermin
2. Trade fairs
3. Bullfights
Originally this festival was held in Oct but due to bad weather at that time of the year in 1591 people of Pamplona move the fiesta of San Fermin to July.

Before Ernest Hemingway’s book,”The Sun also rises” not many people knew where Pamplona was and what running with the bulls was. After 1926 Ernest Hemingway put Pamplona on the world map. The people of Pamplona have a statue of him in the city to show their gratitude

It is a real shame that Pamplona is not promoted to tourists for the rest of the year. This beautiful town has so much to offer, local people are friendly which was a delightful change for me. My visit to Pamplona was in October. The weather was a bit cooler for an Autumn day but the locals say it is not bad weather it is bad clothing in Spain.[/vc_column_text][us_single_image image=”4210″ size=”tnail-3×2″ align=”center”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row height=”small” seperator_indeed_locker=”” lk_t=”ism_template_1″ lk_io=”default” lk_dm=”0″ lk_thm=”0″ lk_tuo=”0″ ru_on=”0″ uhc_on=”0″ ur_on=”0″ ref_on=”0″][vc_column][vc_column_text]Solo Travel
