DARE TO TRAVEL SOLO
WOULD YOU …… DARE TO TRAVEL SOLO???
Do you love looking in the mirror?
Do you love the person looking back at you when you look in the mirror?
If you answered NO to these questions then you need to KEEP READING THIS…….
I know all of us have something or another that we don’t like about ourselves and that is normal, I think us humans tend to be very critical of ourselves. If you are one of those who says, I will be happy after I lose weight, or after I get that job, or after I find a boyfriend, or after I something or another then you are in need for a solo travel adventure. This will be the adventure that will turn your life around for the best.
Yes, that’s right, you need to go travelling, ALONE. Make this year all about you, RIGHT NOW, just the way you are. No more waiting for happiness after something else happens. No more ifs or buts. No more Excuses!
I know, it sounds a little stupid or maybe very stupid, asking a person who might be depressed or lost his or her way, to go traveling alone. Just go with me on this one. When you are traveling, you get to see the world from a different perception. You get to experience the moment you are in right there and then. All of a sudden, been 10 kg over weight is not on your mind anymore, it’s not holding you back anymore. Been in a non productive 8 to 5 job is not so bad anymore, been single is not so bad anymore, in fact what ever made you unhappy does not exist any more ….. you know why?
Because you have moved your perception of life from outside (others opinion of you) to inside (your opinion of you). Your definition of happiness changes. You are not affected by others opinions, even though other people’s opinion of you haven’t changed.
You connect more with your soul, you start seeing beauty within you and with in others, the simple act of achieving a new awareness about your surrounding is like falling in love for the first time. Everything is exciting and everything is perfect. The more you travel the more you fall in love again and again for the first time.
Give yourself the gift of getting out of your comfort zone this year. You don’t have to go far. Your first solo travel does not have to be for too long or too expensive, it doesn’t have to be travelling to another country either, but it does have to be some where you haven’t been before. International trips do cost more and you do have to be organised. Plan in advance to get good deals on flights, tours and hotels etc.
I know it is hard and very scary to travel alone, but you can do this.
Every one of us have survival instincts and when you are alone traveling the unknown, these instincts kick in and you find yourself feeling a true sense of achievement and true state of happiness. Don’t ask a friend to come along, believe in yourself and take that leap of faith. Are you ready? Will you Dare to Travel Solo, for more new Travel adventures, come and join me. Lets travel, let’s have adventures together. Let’s do it,lets make this year – The Year for Travelling the unknown.
Let me know your travel plans and feel free to share your travel adventures with me. I would love to hear from you.

I have done a bit of travelling on my own before children. After doing so much on my own I like to travel with people these days. Nice to have a wine with friends after a day of sight seeing.
Hi Julie, thank you for reading my blog, I know what you mean by sharing a wine with friends and having few laughs, I tend to find new friends to enjoy wine with while I travel, Happy traveling with your friends and family Julie 🙂
I would just love to travel. With the family or without. It seems lately life has other ideas though. I do have a blogger trip to Sydney in the pipeline next month but with another blogger from Perth. It’s a start.
Hi Raychael, Thank you for reading my blog, I can’t wait to hear about your Sydney Blog trip, I was going to go to that, let me know if you enjoyed the experience 🙂
I first travelled on my own at the tender age of 16 to a country where I knew noone and didn’t even speak the language. And the host family didn’t speak a word of English! But I came in the top ten percent of the state in Italian after the trip. It’s awesome to travel alone, you learn so much about yourself and others.
Thank you Kylie, that is such an inspiring story, I am working on my Italian, its very slow going 🙂
Great post! I love the quote at the end too, so very true!! Thanks for sharing.
Thank you Kell for reading my blog and your lovely feedback, really appreciate it, That is one of my favourite travel quotes 🙂
Nice article, thanks for the sharing
Thank you, I am glad you enjoyed it 🙂
Great article and so true. Sometimes you just have to step out of your comfort zone. Life is too short, so live it worthwhile!
Thank you Mel, I agree life really is too short. Happy Traveling 🙂
Wow! This can be one particular of the most useful blogs We’ve ever arrive across on this subject. Actually Fantastic. I am also a specialist in this topic therefore I can understand your effort.
I regard something genuinely interesting about your website so I saved to fav.
I’ve just come back from travelling to Estonia for two weeks. I’m eighteen, just finished school, and it was my first experience of travelling alone. And I’ve come back a different person — I don’t care how much I weigh, or what people think of me, or whether or not I fit in. I’ve become someone happy, someone who laughs all the time. And I realised that I was more myself than I had ever been, because I didn’t have the weight of anyone else’s expectations.
Hi Eliza, reading your story about your solo adventure, put a big smile on my face, I am so proud of you for travelling solo at such a young age, keep Travelling and keep laughing, life really is beautiful 🙂
